My Son Got Into Gunpla, and It Made Me Remember the Zaku I Had as a Kid

My son suddenly got into building Gunpla.

Watching him enjoy it made me remember the Zaku I received from an older kid in my neighborhood when I was small.

The broken Zaku stayed in my memory

That Zaku made a huge impression on me.

But some parts were already broken when I got it. At the time, Gunpla often needed plastic cement, and I did not have any at home.

I remember holding it and wondering if I could somehow fix it.

Modern Gunpla is easier for kids

Recently I bought my son a standard Gundam kit. Modern Gunpla is amazing. Some kits do not even need stickers or nippers to feel complete.

He looked really happy after building the first one.

The second kit was Gundam Astaroth

For his second kit, he chose Gundam Astaroth.

He said he could finish it in about an hour. After an hour, he was about halfway done. Maybe it takes closer to two hours.

He asks me to help, but my eyes are getting worse, and the tiny parts are harder to see now. So I mostly watch while writing.

A little detailed for a second grader, but a good next kit after the first one.
