Claude Code does not require you to become a command-line expert.
But if you set up your project clearly, it becomes easier to use.
Start from the project folder
The first setup is simple. Open Claude Code from the folder where your project lives.
This helps the assistant read the right files and understand the local rules.
Add clear instructions
If the project has a rule file, keep it short and concrete.
Write what matters most. For example: how to run tests, what files are sensitive, and what style to follow.
Keep repeated commands visible
If you often run the same command, write it down in the project notes.
This reduces mistakes and makes future sessions faster.
My rule
You can start simple. Then improve the setup only when you notice repeated friction.
